This Privacy Notice (“Notice”) is provided on behalf of Velocity HoldCo., LLC, its affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively “Velocity” or “we”, “us” or “our”). This Notice will advise you of our privacy policy governing how we collect, use, and share information, and how we obtain information through our websites, social media pages that we control, and consumer interactions, such as information provided on the telephone, in person, or through third parties in the course of our business.
We value you, respect your privacy, and work hard to protect your personal information with generally accepted standards for safeguarding data, including administrative, technical and physical measures, which are continually updated and maintained by qualified information security professionals.
We want to establish and preserve the basis for a trusting business relationship with you. Therefore, we will process and use your data carefully for specific business purposes in line with the reason(s) you granted access to your information and in accordance with legal provisions for the access, use, and protection of your data.
We may modify or update this Notice from time to time based on changes in the law and Velocity’s business operations. We will indicate the last date this Notice was revised at the top of the Notice, so please review it regularly. If there are material changes to the Notice or in how we use or access your personal data, we will inform you by posting a disclosure of changes, or by sending you written notification.
Our Privacy Assurance
We take your personal privacy seriously, as such, we:- Do not sell your personal or medical information to anyone for marketing purposes.
- Do not share your information with non-affiliated companies that would use it to contact you about their own products and services, except when permitted and pursuant to a joint marketing agreement.
- Require persons or organizations that represent or assist us in our business operations, including servicing your policy or claims to protect your information.
- Require our employees to safeguard your personal information and keep it confidential.
In addition to the practices and physical, technical and/or administrative security measures referenced above we restrict access to your sensitive personal, financial and medical information as required by law, and limit accessing your information to providing you with products and services, handling your claims, and other related business operations. Our privacy practices continue to apply to information we may be required to retain even when you no longer have a business relationship with Velocity.
What Information We Collect and Use
We may gather information from you, third parties, consumer reporting agencies and outside sources that is necessary for our business and for providing you with services, and customer support. Examples of the types of information personal to you we may collect include but is not limited to, your name, phone number, home and e-mail addresses, driver’s license number, social security number, marital status, family member information and financial or healthcare information. Information personal to you means any data that can specifically identify you, including records we maintain, such as policy coverages, premiums, and payment history. The information we collect may be obtained from consumer reporting agencies, as well as other third-party sources that provide data about your driving record, claims history, financial or medical information and credit information. We store information required to be protected by law in an encrypted environment.
Our website provides information about us, our products, and the agencies and brokers that work with us. We may also permit some transactions to be performed on the website. This Notice applies to users of our website regardless of whether the user is our customer or not. We may gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. Additionally, our business partners may use tracking services, analytics and other technologies to monitor visits to our website, including web beacons (also called “clear GIFs” or “pixel tags” or “tracking pixel”) in conjunction with cookies.
You may opt out of accepting cookies by changing the settings on your browser. However, rejecting certain cookies may prevent you from using some functions and you may have to repeatedly enter information to take advantage of services or promotions. Commercial Internet sites may use cookies that enable the site to label you as a particular user, but does not identify you by name or address, unless you have provided such information (over the Internet or otherwise) or you set up preferences in your browser to do so automatically.
Cookies allow us to provide you with a more customized service and are used to track and measure Website usage. This information may be used to manage and customize our Website’s content, layout, and services in order to improve our site, enhance customer service, and provide tailored messages.
In addition, Velocity and our business partners may obtain information from your Internet activity, which can include, your operating system, links used to visit our website, web pages you viewed while visiting our site or using our applications, Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data or device address. We may also collect information such as your device type, unique service identification numbers, broad geographic location and other technical information like how your device has interacted with our website. Our business partners may also assist us with monitoring certain information from our website which can help us to better understand how visitors use our website.
We use cookies, analytics and other technologies that help us:
- Evaluate our marketing campaigns
- Analyze how customers use our website and applications
- Develop new services
- Know how many visitors have seen or clicked on our ads
We or our partners may also collect and maintain audio recordings of telephone calls between you and us or our partners acting on our behalf, and where permitted by law, emails, photos and videos you send or that are obtained in the course of providing services to you.
Cookies
When you visit our websites, you will be assigned a “cookie” (a small text file) to be stored on your computer’s hard drive. The purpose of the cookie is to identify you when you visit our website so we can enhance and customize your online experience. Persistent cookies may remain on your computer hard drive until you delete them or are otherwise removed upon expiration of the file. The cookies we use do not contain any personal information and we do not use cookies to gather any personal information about you. Cookie technology used by our affiliates, analytics providers or other service providers may be used in analyzing trends, administering the sites, tracking website usage and access and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports based upon the use of these technologies by such companies on an individual as well as an aggregated basis. Some features cookies support, include remembering your login (so you don’t have to remember your login information) and providing a more personalized online experience. You may also opt-out of tracking cookies, however Velocity does not currently provide a “Do Not Track” option.
Mobile Analytics
Mobile analytics software allows us to better understand the functionality of our Mobile Software (“application”) on your phone or other portable electronic device. This software may record information such as how often you use the application, the events that occur within the application, aggregated usage, performance data, and where the application was downloaded from. We will link the information we store within the analytics software to any personally identifiable information you submit within the mobile application.
Location Services
If location settings are turned on, your location is obtained from the mobile device or the network using your device’s GPS functionality, or directly from you. We may use your location information to:
- Search for information you request – including agent searches; or
- Identify the location of an accident you are reporting.
Your location information is stored on our servers and retained by us until you delete the application from your device. When we execute such searches on your behalf, we do not transfer your identity or personally identifiable information to third parties, other than with those third-party service providers necessary to help perform this function. This information is not used to create a profile about you or your activities. To prevent use of your current location, you must go to your device’s settings and disable the GPS functionality on your mobile device or choose not to submit current location when prompted.
Social Media Widgets
Our website includes social media features, such as the Facebook Like button, Widgets, such as the Share This button and/or interactive mini-programs that run on our website. These Features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our website, and may set a cookie to enable the Feature to function properly. Social media features and Widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our website. Your interactions with these Features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing the Feature.
How We Use and Share Information
In the course of normal business activities, we may use and share your personal information with persons or organizations within and outside of Velocity. We will share and use information in compliance with or as permitted by law. For example, we may use or share information to:
- Fulfill a transaction you requested and/or service your policy.
- Market our products and services.
- Handle a claim.
- Prevent fraud and fraudulent transactions.
- Comply with the law or legal requests from regulatory and law enforcement authorities.
- Participate in reporting or data sharing with insurance support organizations.

- Your agent, broker or Velocity affiliated companies.
- Companies that perform services, such as marketing, credit/debit card processing, and communication services on our behalf.
- Business partners that assist us with tracking how visitors use our website.

- Insurance companies that play a role in an insurance transaction with you.
- Independent claims adjusters or third-party claims administrators.
- Any business or businesses that conduct actuarial or research studies for us.

- Repair providers and recommended claims vendors.
- Regulatory or law enforcement agencies or organizations.
The Internet and Your Information Security
We use third-party advertising companies to present ads on websites on which we advertise using advertising technology that takes information derived from your visits to our website and the websites on which we present ads to you that use cookies to track activity. We also use Web beacons, provided by third-party advertising companies, on both our website and on other websites, to help manage and optimize our online advertising. Web beacons enable us to recognize a browser’s cookie when a browser visits this site, to learn which banner ads bring users to our website and enable us to deliver more relevant ads to users. How we secure, store and transmit Information
To help ensure the security of your personal and financial information you submit to our site, (other than via an e-mail message), we use security software to encrypt the information before and during its transmission through the Internet. We only allow information to be submitted for transmission if your browser is compatible with our security software. If your browser is not compatible, you will receive a message indicating your transaction can be completed but at a lower level of security. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
E-mail messages are not secure. Our security software does not encrypt e-mail messages. E-mail messages traveling through the Internet are subject to viewing, alteration, and copying by potentially anyone on the Internet.

We recommend you communicate your important or sensitive information through the postal service or use the telephone to speak directly to us. How To Review and Correct Your Information?
You can request to review your personal information contained in our records at any time. To do this, please send a letter to the address below requesting to see your information. If you believe that our information is incomplete or inaccurate, you can request that we correct it. Please note that to protect the information of others, we may not be able to provide you with all the information in our files related to investigations, claims, litigation, and other matters. Your Preference for Sharing Personal Information
You may request that Velocity not share your personal information for marketing other products and services.

Please keep in mind that it may take up to four weeks to process your request to opt-out. Your opt-out choice will continue to apply unless you ask us to change it. Who Should Use Our Web Site?
Our website is for insurance and financial products and services and is not intended for children. We do not market any products or services to children under the age of thirteen or knowingly collect any information from children under the age of thirteen. If we become aware that information is or has been submitted by or collected from a child under the age of thirteen, we will delete this information. Our site is intended for use of those persons who are legally adults, age 18 or older, or legally emancipated minors who are entitled to act as an adult.
Links and Co-Branded Sites
Velocity provides links to other sites as a convenience to persons who visit our website. If you choose to use the services provided by other websites, you maybe asked by those websites to provide certain personally identifiable information (some of which may be shared with Velocity). Please be aware that Velocity is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our website to read the privacy policies of every website that you visit, as the privacy policies of those sites may differ from ours. Our Privacy Notice applies solely to our website.
Changes to the Online Privacy Policy
We may modify our privacy policy from time to time. Please take a look at the revised date at the top of this page to see when this Privacy Notice was last revised. Each of our customers receives a copy of our privacy notice annually.
Your Rights and Choices
By accessing this website, you consent to the processing of your personal information as provided in this Notice. Velocity will adhere to applicable data protection laws in the European Economic Area (EEA), which if applicable to you, include the right to:
- Withdraw consent to the processing of your personal information at any time where processing of personal information is based on legitimate grounds relating to your situation, and we will apply your preferences going forward.
- Request access to, update, or erase your personal information, or to transfer or receive a copy of your personal information in a usable format.

- Lodge a complaint with an applicable data protection authority.

Please note that certain information may be exempt from a consumer’s request to delete under California law. For example, we may need certain information in order to provide services to you. We also will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding to a request, which may include, at a minimum, depending on the sensitivity of the information you are requesting and the type or request you are making, verifying your name, email address, and other account information. You are also permitted to designate an authorized agent to submit certain requests on your behalf. In order for an authorized agent to be verified, you must provide the authorized agent with signed, written permission to make such requests. We may also follow up with you to verify your identity before processing the authorized agent’s request.
We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within forty-five (45) days of its receipt. If we require more time (up to an additional 45 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. We will deliver
our written response by mail. If we are unable to verify you based on the information you provided and the information in our system(s) we will advise you that we cannot complete your request based on an inability to verify you.
Disclosures we provide may only cover the 12-month period preceding the verifiable consumer request’s receipt. The response will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable.
Pursuant to California law, we need to disclose to you that we would obtain your consent before sharing medical information for marketing purposes.
